In this IMG activity, you define the classes and class types you require for compatible units.

  • Compatible unit master data is classified with the global class containing allowed values of the assigned characteristics.
  • Compatible unit instances are classified with the global class actual values assigned to the usage of the compatible unit (the instance).

You can classify instances of a compatible unit using characteristics assigned to the influencing class. These are typically used to define the complexity factor (or labor adjustment factor) that adjusts the labor-only component of the operation(s) selected to execute the compatible unit.

You have defined the following:

  • The global classes for the compatible unit and compatible unit instance and associated characteristics
